Animal Logic Wins Best of Show In Television At 2005 International Mobius Advertising Awards

LOS ANGELES -- Animal Logic, Sydney, NSW, with George Patterson Y&R in Melbourne and Plaza Films, Sydney, has won Best of Show in Television at the 2005 international Mobius Advertising Awards. They won for "Big Ad," created for Carlton Draught of Foster’s Australia.

Animal Logic used 3D software to create the many extras needed to create the commercial, which is reminiscent of a pending battle of epic proportions.

Animal Logic also provided the visual effects for five Mobius winners.

Best of Show awards were won by creatives in Australia, United States, Austria and the United Kingdom. Best of Show nominees were selected from among the 136 First Place Mobius winners in the 35-year-old competition. The overall winners represented works from 25 countries.

Animal Logic competed against six other nominees for the top TV award, including another of its own entries, "No 5-The Film," for Chanel.

The other nominees were:

"For boys who were always men," DDB Group Germany, Berlin, for Volkswagen;
Chipi Chips "Container," "Demolition Ball," "Meteor," "Piano" Campaign, Grey Worldwide Zagreb for Franck d.d., Zagreb;
"Penguins 1," Grey Worldwide New York, Frontier Airlines;
"Pulp Fiction," "Aliens," "Shining," "Jaws," "The Exorcist," "Titanic" Campaign for Volkswagen by DDB Germany, Dusseldorf;
"Life is: Plasma A:60," "Life is: DVD-R A:60," "Life is: Digital Camera A:60" Campaign for Panasonic by Grey Worldwide, New York City.


Winners and nominees in the other mediums follow.

Cinema/In-flight:
Arnold Worldwide, Boston, won Best of Show in Cinema/In-flight for "The Check Up," for Volkswagen of America.

Nominees in that medium were "Janadriya, A Festival of Human Spirit," a Saudi Arabia tourism promotion done by Industria 3 Film & Post, HD, Mexico City; and "Fly," a commercial for WMF AG cutlery by KNSK Werbeagentur GmbH, Hamburg, Germany.

Radio:
Brogan & Partners Convergence Market in Birmingham, Mich., captured Best of Show in Radio with "I Smoke While I Am Coloring," a public service announcement for the Michigan Department of Health.

The other nominee in Radio was "Looking," "Still Looking," "Found" Campaign by Due North Communications, Toronto, for an E-commerce commercial for Workopolis.

Print:
"Book," an advertisement for UNICEF Austria created by FCB Kobza Werbeagentur Ges.m.b.h., Vienna, won Best of Show in Print.

Other nominees in that medium were: "Polar Bear Baby" for Volkswagen AG; "Fart," Slobber," "Rustle" Campaign for Studio Funk, both by Grabarz & Partner Werbeagentur, GmbH, Hamburg, and "Fly," "Carrot," "Knife Grinder" Campaign for WMF Cutlery by KNSK Werbeagentur GmbH, Hamburg.

Outdoor:
Marriott Hotels & Resorts’ "Revive" Campaign developed by mcgarrybowen, New York City, took the Best of Show award in Outdoor.

Other nominees in this are were "Beet Root," "Carrot," "Pear" Campaign by KNSK Werbeagentur GmbH, Hamburg, for WMF Cutlery, and the "Pumping Bag" by Denmer, Merlicek & Bergmann, Vienna, for the Austrian Red Cross.

Mixed Media:
A campaign by Buck & Pulleyn, Pittsford, N.Y., Eastman Kodak Company "Get Noticed," took top honors in Mixed Media.

Also nominated for Best of Show in this medium were: "Seek Truth," campaign for American Legacy Foundation by Arnold Worldwide, Boston, and Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Miami; and "Passat Features" for Volkswagen by Arnold Worldwide, Boston.

Direct:
"A New Masterpiece for Chicago," a Direct by Davis Harrison Dion, Chicago, for the Chicago Tourism & Convention Bureau won "Best of Show in Direct.

Also nominated in this medium were "Break Now," for Like a River Agency’s own promotion; and "Pattex 3D Puzzle" by DDB Germany, Dusselforf and Berlin, for Henkel KGaA.

Package Design:
The Package Design Best of Show, went to dare!, Leeds, for designs for Boutinot Ltd. for its "Toro" alcoholic beverages.

Other nominees were Ziggurat, London, for Jonathan Crisp Packs Product Line; Wallace Church Inc., New York City, for 44° North Vodka, and Williams Murray Hamm, London, for Sainsbury's Organic Breadsticks, Stuffing, Tea Bags, Penne, Spaghetti, Haricot Beans, Chick Peas, Kidney Beans, Baked Beans, Mint Sauce Product Range.

Online:
Best of Show in Online Advertising was won by Arc Worldwide, London, for "Flash Hunk," for Flash Cleaning Products.

The other nominees were "Passat Features," by Arnold Worldwide, Boston, for Volkswagen, and "Horlicks," by Williams Murray Hamm, London, for Horlicks.
